No matter what other islands or travel destinations may claim, Baguio will always be the summer capital of the Philippines.
It's true. It's in the Philippine Constitution. The Supreme Court tradition of holding its summer sessions in the City of Pines was started during American colonial times. It was became official in 1903. Baguio has a distinguished place in the Philippine history as the city where WW2 started and ended. It was bombed on the same day as Pearl Harbor, and it was where General Yamamoto surrendered.
